Management mantra forstudents: Beg, borrow or steal

LUCKNOW, MARCH 15: "You must always be your best challenger" said Shri Sunil Kumar Alagh, Chairman SKA Advisors, while addressing the twelfth convocation at JIM, Lucknow. While advocating the dictum of 'beg, borrow, steal' in the corporate world, he observed, "thou shall beg for good people, borrow the brains as you cannot do all by yourself and steal the ideas and make it bigger and better. He further added, "Do unto others what you don't want done unto you".
 

The convocation started with the welcome address delivered by Chairman, Shri Sharad Jaipuria, wherein he said "management issues are often interrelated than isolated, hence an interdisciplinary approach to learning is used as opposed to acquiring knowledge of functional management disciplines in isolation."

As many as 185 students were awarded diplomas. Joshita Tandon stole the limelight at JIM Convocation by consecutively bagging Vice Chairman’s Silver medal, standing first in merit list of Marketing and Human Resource specializations. The Chairman’s Gold medal was awarded to Shruti Gupta, the Director’s Bronze medal was awarded to Ruchir Agarwal in PGDM full time programme. Samarth Mathur also won a meritorious award.

Preeti Bhatia won the Chairman’s Gold medal and Nomita Saxena won Vice chairman’s Silver medal in PGDM part time programme. Ram Kumar Rojra, Amit Kumar, Preeti Bhatia were among the other meritorious students.

Convocation

 

JIM Director, S. Chakraborty presented a report on the progress and activities of the institute of the current academic year. He exhorted the passing out graduates that manner of living is more important than standard of living and building a meaningful life is the most valuable achievement.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Smt. Anjali Jaipuria, Vice Chairman, JIM,Lucknow. In her message to the students, she primarily focused on the importance of change in life by saying, "change, for you must change, for you will change, for you have no choice, you have to change"
